Two different motors are available with the Font' N-Aire Series - The Propeller Pump Unit and the Centrifugal Pump Unit. The Propeller Pump Unit moves a large volume of water through a converging nozzle, causing shearing to occur, exposing more water surface area to the atmosphere. As the water returns to the lake or pond, each droplet drags an additional amount of water with it, causing an "induced flow" effect, which in essence increases the surface area of the lake. All of these factors result in excellent aeration. Another event which takes place simultaneously is the cooling that takes place, since the cooler water tends to sink, causing the warmer water to rise, a natural process known as mixing.
